Rejoicing in Round 6!

 Saturday, February 28, 2026

And there you shall eat before the LORD your God and you shall rejoice, you and your households, in all that you undertake, in which the LORD your God has blessed you.

Deuteronomy 12:7

Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice!

1 Chronicles 16:10

Rejoice always because God is good always. I always start this blog remembering God's goodness over all creation. Not just including my own family, but everyone around us as well. As we wait to see what God's plan is, we pray. We pray and thank God for the many blessings and great days He has already given and also the hardest moments too. All of it is for His glory. This sentence is very real and also hard to put into practice while laying beside a kiddo who's asleep at 9:30 in the morning because his chemo has finally caught up with him. Now I'll add that he biked around the hospital this morning quite fast and had a filling breakfast with joy on his face and energy like nothing on earth, so I am not surprised his little body needs a rest before going at it again! Nevertheless, I see God's peace here in this room while he sleeps. Rest after putting his armor of God on to fight this ferocious battle against cancer. He's a happy boy and is gracefully unaware of what's happening. He's just continuing to put up a good fight and he's doing a great job.

I don't know God's ultimate plan for Ezra or our family, but I do see His enduring love everywhere we look in our lives. No matter the outcome, God has been carrying us through this whole time.

Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the LORD!

Psalm 27:14

Ezzie did great in his scans yesterday and was super brave! For a little guy, he is showing so much resilience. So far we have seen great energy and happy, funny attitudes. He's doing well in the hospital so far and that's encouraging! He loves bike rides now that he has his very own to wheel around with! Take a look at his new license plate. What a cool guy. He's doing crafts and playing so much than Matt and I have seen in months. What a blessing from God and answered prayers.

Going forwards, we are here until Wednesday, March 4 morning and then we will likely be back for clinic on Friday March 6 to check his bloodwork again. The following week on Monday March 9, we should be getting a call after our team meets and discusses the images with the oncology surgeons related to whether or not surgery is able to happen and the next steps for treatment.

Ezra's birthday will be celebrated here this year and that comes with a lot of feelings, but again, praise God for 4 years we have been blessed with out sweet, funny, loving guy.

For now, we are rolling through each day and enjoying the present. Thank you all again for your incredible prayers for Ezzie's health, his scans, our family, etc. We are grateful to all of our family, friends and community for the care given to us during this season we are in. Please know you are greatly appreciated!

Love to you all!
